Photoshop: Gradients and Artboards are interacting badly (Bug)

I had 8 artboards in a row and decided to move 4 of them underneath the first four. The gradients on the moved artboards then behaved as if the top of the artboard was still level with the top of the artboard above it. I moved them back, and it was as if I'd move the artboard to the top of the gradient and now the bottom was still way below the artboard. Realign didn't work.

This makes me hesitate to use artbords at all for fear it will upset other processes.

I have another problem with artboards and gradient layers: If you copy an artboard (click on the onscreen "+" sign), the gradients positions get totally screwed up.
