Wouldn't it be nice to be able to select using a gradient from 0% to 100% (or any other percentage) selection. Now I must create a color gradient first, select color range, remove gradient (layer) and there is my selection. Seems a fairly easy to implement tool but saves a lot of tedious work.

Wouldn’t
• enter Quick Mask Mode (Q)
(• if necessary reset Fore- and Background Color (D))
• apply gradient
• exit Quick Mask Mode (Q)
be quicker than your current work-around?

Sweet, didn't know this. This is indeed quicker and above suggestion may not be valid anymore. Thanks!
