Photoshop: HUD color palette makes it difficult to select black and white

When you bring up the GPU-powered color palette and hover the mouse on top of it, you notice that when you drag the mouse even a bit over the edge of the palette, the color selector stops moving.

Now, this makes it extremely difficult to select colors that are in the corners of the palette, almost impossible. For example, there's no certain way to select black or white - it's always a bit off. This makes it a bit useless when you paint masks, since you can't trust the color value you chose, if it's 100% black or white.

Any tips on this? Otherwise maybe the color selector could keep on sliding when the mouse is dragged over the edge of the palette, making it easier to choose the colors in the corners?
