Lightroom: Going from Library to develop to work on an image, you get another image

While in grid, I'm looking through my images, I find one that needs a crop -- #30 for example. Click 'R' to crop the image. I end up in develop, in crop mode, looking at image #1 ready to be cropped.

The link between Grid and Develop seems to have been broken.

Did you just recently import/upgrade a catalog? Does restarting Lightroom correct this problem permanently?

Just upgraded from 3.6 to 4.1RC. I installed 4.0 (licensed) on a mac in the studio for testing and that was working fine. I wanted to make sure before I upgraded my main catalog.

I ended up deleting the catalog, re-upgrading again, then optimizing the database and that finally got rid of the problem.
