Color Swatches instantly shared between all Adobe apps

I'd like color swatches to be common to all Adobe Programs. So that (for instance) an RGB value can be copied from Illustrator to Photoshop to After Effects. This is possible in the Mac OS but ought to be in the Adobe Color Picker.

The ASE (swatch exchange) file format for color swatches does that.

And that has nothing to do with the color picker.

Sorry Mr Cox - that's too fiddly. This should be a straightforward swatch picker in the Color Picker.

You're not making sense. While in the color picker, you can already pick from the swatches palette. And the color picker has a color book mode for traditional color swatches.

So, what exactly are you trying to do that isn't already available?

Perhaps you don't grasp what I am asking. If so I apologise for not being clear.

If I select a color in Photoshop I want to be able to save the color there in the Adobe Color Picker. Then I want to load After Effects (for instance) and have the same swatch available for me.

So not global, but "colors shared between apps instantly without saving to a file"?

Sorry was unaware of the specific connotations of "Global" in this context. Yes.

I do not even see an option for choosing system color picker in Illustrator.

I have to work with this every day. Resorted to writing down RGB values.

Seems a bit unusual given the emphasis Adobe makes on the inter-relationship of its products.
