When trying to change a font to something different, the font reverts to the previous font. Went back into Photoshop 2019 and no issues...

Howdy Max,

Can you tell me more about this problem that you're having?  What steps/actions are you taking?  Which OS are you on?  Does it happen every time?

Thanks,
David

macOS Mojave 10.14.4. It happens all the time. I switch back to Photoshop 2019 and everything works perfectly.

Hi Max,

But what is happening?  You launch PS, create a new document with a new text layer, then you start typing, select the text and change the font?  You're saying it just "changes back"?  Does this happen with all fonts and all text?  Is it happening with specific text?  Is that text unusual?  Are you sure all the glyphs in the line of text are available in the font you've chosen?  Have you turned off Missing Glyph Protection under Preferences > Type?  Could you post some examples / screenshots?

Finally, keep in mind Photoshop uses a different model than Illustrator for text -- your font reflects what you last did, so if you have missing glyph protection on and your font doesn't support the characters you're trying to type, you may well find the font face substituted for one that does.

Hope that helps.  I can help you drill down into what you're seeing with more info on your steps and what you're seeing.

Thanks,
David
