Give lightroom more control over video organization and integration with premiere.

I'd like to see lightroom do more with video. Everything from my cards gets imported into lightroom but the videos just get lost in the sauce. It would be awesome if lightroom had a special video panel that you could go to when you just want to see and organize your videos and maybe even some real time color grading but I know the last part is asking alot. Also I think Premiere CC should be able to interface with the lightroom catalog so that it can add videos and photos to project without you having to hunt for the folder or set them aside maybe your lightroom collections can be offered up as an option which would be handy if you are working on a project. Just some features I think are no brainers and would love to see in an update. Thanks and keep up the good work.

To see just videos, do View > Show Filter Bar, click Attribute, and then click the video icon:

Perhaps you could add more detail about what such a section would do differently than filtering the Library by video. That would help Adobe understand your feature request better.

Note that making smart collections is not the same as filtering. You can't apply a smart collection to a folder and restrict the photos/vidoes seen just by folder, whereas you can apply a filter to a folder and restrict the photos/videos seen by folder.

I'm not sure the second part applies but the main issue is that when you come in from the field with one of more card with hundreds to a couple thousand files photos and videos will be intermixed because of how cameras work. Currently lightroom isn't set up to edit videos which is fine but it doesn't have a way to send the videos over to an editor like premier pro. I could import just the video files into the editor but lightroom doesn't have a way to ignore videos on import so I would end up with duplicates. The video section would be a place to organize and view video files without having to turn filters on and off all the time. It might even have a way to do basic color correction using the lightroom sliders without having to pull a still from the video. The main thing is that lightroom would have an ability to send a file or a group of files over to premiere the way it sends photos to photoshop. This method would allow lightroom to manage the files so you don't have to worry about duplicates or track down the folders of all the videos you want to use because maybe you too them at different times of the year so they are stored in different folders. Hopefully that makes sense. Basically it's simplifying the video workflow for people who shoot video while they are taking pictures opposed to dedicated video shooters who only have video files to worry about.
