Getting slower with use

Lightroom 6.7 on Windows 10 (and at least Windows 7 as well) will get slower and slower with normal use, given a large enough catalog and enough browsing through folders in grid view, developing pictures, moving them around, rating, culling, tagging, etc.

With normal use, Lightroom will, over time, start consuming more and more CPU time and more memory. This is especially a problem on laptops, as it will drain the battery quicker and quicker. On desktops, it's less of a battery problem, but still a slight annoyance over time, especially if Lightroom becomes barely usable at one point.

This problem is so bad, Iit's become a habit to close down and restart Lightroom every so often.

There WAS another topic about this:
https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom-taking-100-cpu-time-and-getting-slo...
But some moderator misguidedly deleted it, and there seems no way to get it back, or even see what was written in any of the replies. Well done! It was a huge discussion and lots of problems were discovered, confirmed, and denied. I guess we need to do all of that all over again :(

So, TLDR:
Use Lightroom heavily enough, and it will almost grind to halt after a while.

I see no change with Lightroom 6.8.

Please Adobe, you really REALLY need to get this sorted. It's been a problem for far too long.

After Christmas is fine though, so have a good one :)
