PHOTOSHOP: Generator applies cumulative effect of adjustment layers to bottom most pixel layer?

I'm trying out generate image assets for the first time, and I'm running into some problems, and I'm not sure if its the functionality or me.

I'm trying to create different image maps that I will load as textures in a 3D application, and I'm trying to get generate to save out the color, bump, and specular maps.

I have three groups one named Wallcolor.png, Wallbump.png, and Wallspec.png. Wallcolor is on the top of the layer stack, and the Wallbump on the bottom. Each group contains a smart object on the bottom, and Wallspec, and Wallbump contain adjument layers, and all of the groups are set to the normal blending mode. However when Photoshop generates the image assets the adjustment layers from the middle group seem to be effecting the image in the bottom group. It was my understanding that Photoshop would just save out the contents of each group as a separate file, but it seems to be taking adjustment from further up the layer stack with it even though they are not contained in the same group.

You can download the PSD, and the resulting assets here

PS 14.1.2
OS 10.9.2
