A huge part of my workflow is exporting images with different presets and then uploading the images to different FTP sites.

I would love to be able to make presets that would control the size, etc and upload them to a specific FTP site and folder all in one function.

I would also like to be able to toss in the occasional non lightroom file to the upload.

Download the SDK. There's a ready-made FTP plugin in there - you don't have to worry about the rest of the SDK unless you are into self-inflicted pain.

This doesn't allow me to create a folder (or navigate folders) on the FTP.

Sure it does ... from the Export Dialog, select "Edit" from the FTP Server Destination drop down menu ... this opens the current server info, to the right of "Server Path" ... click the "Browse" button ... then you can navigate the selected server anywhere you have permission to do so ...

I use the FTP plugin from the SDK for a number of file delivery paths for a number of clients ... works very well ...
