Why has my cursor freezes in Lightroom 4 or Lightroom 4.3? It freezes the screen, cursor does not move. Have to shut off the computer. Cursor works in all other programs on computer.

Does it freeze for a period of time or forever?

When it's frozen, does Lightroom respond to keyboard input?

Does it happen intermittently or all the time?

If the entire system is hung, then you have some bad hardware that is being stressed until it fails. Probably memory, but it could also be the support chips for the memory. I suppose it could also be driver related, though today's kernels are usually pretty robust in the face of driver failures.

Is your mouse special? Do you have any interesting USB "HID" devices hooked up to the computer?

The cursor works in everything but the Lightroom. I even loaded Lightroom 3 to start fresh but still freezes. I could use Library to bring in photos. Once I went to develop module, it froze. I restart the computer, and the touchpad works the cursor. I have an IBM Lenovo THinkpad 15 inch laptop. It was fine in lightroom until I clicked on develop module while photos were still being downloaded(I thought they were done. That started the frozen mouse. I deleted the photos that had been downloaded, and redid the mouse driver. The program works on another computer, so the original information is correct. Somehow there is a file that is corrupted that locks things up in the develop module. I have scanned through Lenovo, and RegCure to look for bad files. Everything is good.
