Freezing computer with Windows 10 and Lightroom and Photoshop

I have subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud and downloaded Photoshop and Lightroom. Since downloading Windows 10 I have been having problems with Lightroom and getting a message on the screen that Lightroom is not responding then the screen greys out and the computer freezes. The same thing happened with Photoshop so I have now uninstalled Windows 10 reverted back to Windows 7 and the programs are running properly. What is wrong with Windows 10 that the programs will not run properly.

Do you have an AMD GPU in that system? The AMD driver that shipped with Windows 10 has a known problem that can cause applications to freeze, and is fixed in a beta release of AMD's drivers.

I have now reinstalled Windows 10 and have checked that it is an AMD Radeon HD5450. The system is Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 Quad CP. Is that of any help?

Thank you for your prompt response to my query. I am not sure where to find the 'AMD GPU' so if you could assist with that it would help in the first place. I have been looking around the system and have found that it has an ATI Radeon HD5450. Is this the right thing please?

Yes, that is an AMD GPU. Try installing the 15.8 beta driver from AMD's website.

Thank you so very much for your help with this problem. I have downloaded the 15.8 beta driver and it seems to be working at the moment. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
