This bug was driving me crazy for months and I only now figured out, how to reproduce it.

EDIT-2: I have done the basic trouble-shooting steps. I found out there's another post about this (but only complaining, no infos, so I though I could make a more detailed post).

I'm using Photoshop CC 2017.0.1
on Mac OS X Sierra 10.12.2
- on a Macbook Pro (early 2011),
- 2,3 GHz Intel Core i5,
- Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB
- 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 (2x8)
- Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

As stated in the title, here's the detailed breakdown:
1.  I do any change  to a document (i.e. delete a layer)
2.  I hit CMD+S to save it
3.  I press T to change to text-tool
4.  I click into a word to go into that text-layer

To reproduce this, you might have to repeat step 3-4 one or two times, while the document is still saving (a bigger document could be helpful for this, mine are around 270 MB).

It seems to happen even when the document is not saving. Just re-opened one (force-quit PS because of the bug), jumped right into a text-layer and  boom – got stuck.

When the bug is "successfully" triggered, these are the effects:
- Nothing happens when I hit ESCAPE to de-select the text-layer, I can't leave it
- Nothing happens when I hit FN+ENTER, to confirm the changes I made to the text-layer
- Nothing happens when I hit the Check-Icon in the upper toolbar, to confirm the changes...
- I can't resize the text-field, the mouse does not even change it's state
- I can't change the tool, by using shortcuts (makes sense, since I'm trapped in the text-field
- I can not access the menu-bar to manually save the document

- I can write & delete (with backspace)

- When I try to manually change to i.e. the mouse-cursor-tool, all toolbars become blank (completely grey, no more icons).
