Photoshop CC 2019: Frame Tool Issue

The Frame Tool is active on my Toolbar but in preferences it's listed on the Extra Tools list. So it shouldn't be on the Toolbar at all. If I click on it in the Extra Tools list, Photoshop will crash more often than not. I have found no way to remove the Frame Tool from the Toolbar

This is happening on a Win 7 Professional OS based system. Is anyone else seeing this anomaly?

Thanks in advance...

Have you tried "Restore Defaults" in the toolbar settings? If you can't get to that (you said it crashed), I would try deleting the Preferences (it's in the first window of the Preferences in the bottom panel). If you can get to the tool bar prefs it's a better deal, you'll only lose the keyboard settings as opposed to all of your settings (which I know is painful, sorry).

Hey Tom,

I stumbled onto the same solution just before your answer came along. Funny though, I had to go through the process of clearing and setting the toolbar to its default settings a couple of times before the change finally took.

All's working as expected now and the crashes have stopped.

Thanks!

I'm actually looking for the opposite. I liked having it on my toolbar and was using it less than a week ago - as of today it is gone! Used to be underneath my crop tool. When I go to edit toolbar there is nothing listed under extra tools. I liked my frame tool!!!!

Go to Edit > Toolbar... then choose "Restore Defaults" from the righthand column of buttons.

Hey Jeffery! Thank you - I did this yesterday and it didn't work . I completely shut down Photoshop last night and restarted this morning, followed your instructions by using the menu rather than the three dots they offer at the bottom of the toolbar like yesterday (I don't know why this would matter but thought it was worth putting out there) and it worked!
