frame advance hotkeys lacking in Photoshop CC 2014-2015 frame animation mode

There doesn't seem to be any hotkey to advance to the next frame or go backwards in "frame animation" mode in the timeline. Working on and adjusting drawn, frame-by-frame animation, most experienced animators would like to be able to flip quickly back and forth to visually compare the images on successive frames. That is, they would be drawing with one hand and using the other to quickly control and change which frame they're on. This has to be done quickly so that you still have the image and the movement in your head as you adjust your drawing; using the stylus to click on the frame advance and frame back buttons absolutely won't work for this.
I'm starting to try to work in "timeline" mode, but I would like to be able to keep the layers as layers because they will ultimately be imported as stills into After Effects to be animated there. It looks like "timeline" mode has too many particularities (like not being able to change the frame rate as you tween without losing frames) to let this process go smoothly.
Just having hotkeys to move through the frames in "frame animation" mode would make it a pretty serviceable way to animate frame-by-frame in Photoshop. It may just be that I'm only starting to dig in, but it doesn't seem that "timeline animation" mode really has it together enough yet to be a good place for real animation, even though it alone has the frame advance hotkeys as far as I can gather.

Photoshop CC. It says "2014.2.2" and also "20141204.r.310 x64".
OS is Windows 7 Professional

I just updated to Photoshop CC (2015), but the arrow keys still only work in "timeline animation" mode and not in "frame animation" mode. (And now "help - about Photoshop CC" won't open its informational window correctly anymore, so I can't give you the exact version number. But it's what the Creative Cloud manager thinks is the most current one.)

Were you able to figure out a solution for this? I'd like to do the same.

I figured it out: Go to Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts - then in the "Shortcuts For:" drop-down menu, select "Panel Menus."  -  Then look for "Timeline (Frames)"  -  you'll see an option for Go To> Next Frame and Previous Frame. Then you can add a shortcut keystroke!
