For a Win 7 Pro machine with i7 930 CPU, 12 GB RAM and SSD, publishing multiple galleries (>5) at a time in Lightroom 5 causes the CPU to go to 100% utilized with a very significant increase in temperature. Editing is extremely sluggish in that state.

While CPU cycles abruptly between 80-100%, RAM does not go past 4-5GB utilization.

The publish feature is also extremely slow when doing this. Selecting one gallery at a time utilizes less CPU and images upload faster.

seems that the same occurs with every export:
While with LR3 & LR4 one got better performance and CPU usage while exporting using multiple LR threats, it seems that using this technique in LR5 the CPU is somehow stressed to much and the system massively slows down.
Somehow the slow performance of LR makes working really painfully slow.
