Font changes randomly from even numbe to odd fractions, and sometimes when selecting a text box it fills with random characters between the original text.

Affected versions of Photoshop
CS6 & CC

Which OS version are you using?
And have you installed all the Photoshop updates?

OSX Build 13B42 (Mavericks)
Yeah, all the updates on Adobe CC Photoshop

This bug has been affected me when CS6 launched, it seems a bit worse (or just as bad in CC).

Was this bug present before you moved to MacOS 10.9?
If it only happens in 10.9, then you probably have the dictation (voice recognition) feature enabled, and it is known to do bizarre things to text entry...

Howdy David,

I'm inclined to believe you have two or even three issues going on here. One is, as Chris points out, a conflict with the Dictation bug in MacOS 10.9. The other are bugs in Photoshop that we fixed several months ago.

One is that there were a small number of users that were having problems with the contents of a type layer being replaced by the contents of another type layer. While we have a solution to the CAUSE of the bug, once this happens to a given document, it's toast. Any attempt to reuse that document INCLUDING copying layers to another document, will ultimately bring the bug back. So, if you've seen this, stop, ice-box that file, and rebuild it. You're doing yourself a HUGE favor in the long run.

The second one is that we had a problem with transformed text. This is largely fixed, but in older versions of the application, if a customer uses free transform to scale text, then they got unusual numerical values for font sizes. Again, this is pretty much fixed in the latest release and if you use older files, you will be fine.

If none of these addresses your concern, PLEASE let us know. I'd be happy to troubleshoot your problem.

Thanks,
David
