I have just bought PSE 9 from the mac app store, I am using mac osx lion.
When I use the text tool I get the message "editing or rendering the text layer "my text" will cause its layout to change' When I press continue I lose all the spaces between the words.
There is an error message on the text layer as 'font is present on the system but requires a layout change'
The .psd files were created in PSE 6.
I have the same, new problem when using PSE 6 on mac lion. I bought PSE 9 to solve it, but no luck. I also get the message 'some text layers might need to be updated before they can be used for vector based output. do you want to update these layers now?' when i open a PSE 6 file post upgrading to mac osx lion and the text displays with out spaces between the words

Which font? Apple does have a handful of known font problems on Lion.

The messages are normal when the font has changed (Apple changed the id and contents).

Helvetica Neue Bold

Did not think of changing the font - Helvetica works ok so at least I can work on the files I need right now.

Any ideas how I would fix the Helvetica Neue issue?

Thanks for the reply

Yep - that's one of the busted fonts on Lion.
See http://forums.adobe.com/message/38218...

Most likely Apple will have to update their font files to fix the encoding issues.
