Folder file limit on network drives

When using Lightroom 5.6 (and earlier) with a network drive, I am unable to import images from folders that contain 99 or more files in them. When these folders are selected, it says that there are no photos in them.

I've tested this with various folders on several network drives. When the number of files is 98 or less, it works. Any more than this and it doesn't find any photos. I've also tested by adding and removing photos from the same folder to take the file limit to 99 and above and below 99 to eliminate the possibility that it's a corrupt file causing the issues.

Tested with Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines and with network drives on Linux and Mac OS X & Buffalo NAS.
