For instance, lets asay I take a photo of Peter, Paul, and Mary. I have 4 sets on flickr I want to publish them to. So I set up rules in a smart collection to show the fiollowing:

1) If keyword = "peter", add to the "Peter" collection.
2) If keyword = "paul", add to the "Paul" collection.
3) If keyword = "mary", add to the "Mary" collection.
4) If keyword = "peter" and keyword = "paul" and keyword = "mary", add to the "Peter, Paul, and Mary" Collection.

So I have a photo that contains all 3 keywords, LR published the photo to whichever collection I select first, and then uploads a second copy of the photo to the collection containing all three.

Woudlnt it be more efficient to take the existing photo and add it to the existing set on flickr?

When a pictures is part of multiple sets in the Flickr publish module of Lightroom 4.1, it will be published multiple times on Flickr, as separate pictures.

What I would expect is that the picture would be uploaded once (to the Flickr photostream) and then be added to all the sets it belongs it. This way it would be possible to navigate from 1 picture through multiple sets in the Flickr browse interface. Also all Flickr comments, favorites etc. would end up in one place,

What happens now is that such a picture will be uploaded multiple times (and will appear multiple times in the Flickr photostream) and will be added to each set separately. When looking at the picture in Flickr there are no links to the other sets, and neither are comments or favorites shared.
