Lightroom CC: Flickr service can't re-authorize account

In the middle of working in Lightroom CC yesterday, it suddenly froze up and shut down. When it re-opened, it welcomed me to the new version. This has never happened - I always update manually through the CC manager app. A bunch of preference items reverted to defaults, which I discovered and corrected, except that I don't seem to be able to change the thumbnail size in the filmstrip across the bottom anymore. But my Flickr publish service disconnected from my account and it won't let me re-authorize.

It sounds like your preferences got reset, with the same version? Maybe the preference file was so corrupt that it would not open and LR created a new one? You could try to get an old version of the preferences file from your backup and manually drag it in to your ~/library/preferences folder, but you may be better off just starting over, painful as it is!

I just reset my user preferences by holding down shift option and launching LR to fix a problem, you could try that too.

Hi Bill,

Have you tried the workaround provided above by Carlos? Please let me know if it worked.

Okay, been away from the computer for a few days and am looking at this now. Each of my backups just contains a Lightroom Catalog.lrcat.zip. I'm assuming if I pick one of these and "Extract All," the preferences file will be one of the things inside?

That will contain the catalog, but not preferences. Carlos was referring to your main system backups, such as Time Machine.

It worked - I restored the preferences file to a version from a few days before the update, and everything is running smoothly. Thanks for the tip, Carlos!
