Photoshop: Flattened or merged image changes from zoomed out preview

trying to print this image, but photoshop merges the layers before print. it seems the look of the image is dependent on the two grey looking layers which are both set to difference blending mode. when the layers are merged the image looks completely different...
???

Zoom in to 100% to judge the final effect. You're looking at the downsampled layers blending, and the layers are very noisy, so it won't be accurate when downsampled.

is there a way to keep the look of the downsampled image? i've used print screen, but i was trying to keep the look with the full sized image.

If you had to, you could blur the base image to match the downsampled preview.
At 25% zoom, Filter-> Pixelate -> Mosaic size 4 should come close.
For a smoother result, try Filter -> Blur -> Box Blur radius 2.

But in most cases, it's best to zoom in to 100% to judge your adjustments and compositing.
