I have a template for outputting multiple sizes of icons. There are 40 icon sizes with accompanying slices. Our artists bring the vectors are into the template and populate all the sizes and then save the psd - we want each psd to have 1 icon so its easy to find the file in a folder rather than remember which PSD contains the icon.I have the slice names sdet up as icon_xxx_16.png where "xxx" represents the name of that icon and the name of the psd -is there a way to make a script that would do a find and replace on the "xxx" string in the layer and replace them all with an input text?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Please add find and replace text feature to layer and layer group names..

As an organizing junkie, I love to rename my layers and layer groups often, whether it's because I am improving my layer naming scheme, or I have copied many well-organized layers from a another document and need to replace one word in the names of all of it's layers at once.
