Photoshop: images failing to draw properly

I get this problem rather randomly, and when it happens the only solution is to restart my computer.

What happens is this: When I attempt to open a file or create a new file, I am unable to view it in the main window. Everything loads properly in the navigation, colors, and layers windows, but nothing shows up where it should - namely the main window. In fact, the main window doesn't even show up... All the toolbars and menus are there, just the main window is gone. As if it were minimized...

Again, this only happens every other time I use photoshop, but every time it happens I must restart my computer...

Thanks for your efforts!

Update your video card driver, or turn off OpenGL drawing in preferences to avoid the bugs in your video card driver.

Photoshop is trying to draw the image, but the driver is failing to draw it correctly when calling OpenGL. Usually updating the driver solves the problem (since it's an obvious driver bug that the GPU vendors tend to fix quickly).
