Files disappearing while I'm working on them?

Since I updated to CC, I've noticed files deleting themselves while I'm in the middle of editing a batch. The jpg preview will still be there, and I can tell from the positions of the sliders in my grayed-out toolbars that my edits are still there, but the image says "File not found" at the top. When I click the exclamation point, I see the popup attached, and when I go to the folder it describes, the photo is, in fact, gone. These files still exist on my SD card, so hasn't been a total disaster so far, but what's going on? This feels like it might not be a Lightroom problem, but it started immediately after this update, and I'm *really* hoping this doesn't mean something important and expensive is corrupted.

Any thoughts you have would be appreciated!

I can 99% say that it is not LR that is doing that be itself.
Have you searched your drive for that Untitled - 13.jpg file?

I did a search and found many different untitled-13.JPGs, but not that one. That one is missing from its folder, but 12 and 14 are there.

I'd go along with Shot Me. Perhaps there is some synchronization software running in the background? If you are not already backing up, perhaps you have a thumb drive lying around and you could use it to set up a Time Machine backup limited to your photos folder? At least you could see approximately when the photo disappears, and get it back if it does disappear.

Thanks! I do have backups (the most important one being that I never clear my SD card until everything definitely works), I'm just alarmed that something in my system is just deleting stuff for no reason.
