Lightroom: Filenames on Filmstrip

It would be great to be able to display the filename by each photo in the filmstrip on the bottom of the screen. When trying to find a specific photo quickly in the Develop Module, I have to hover over each photo and wait for the tool-tip to appear to see if it is the one I want. It would also be extremely useful when trying to figure out which image is a TIFF and which is the RAW when they are side by side.

Whe you hover over a picture, you don't have to wait for the tooltip: The picture name is immediately displayed in the status line above the filmstrip (if you don't currently hover over a picture in the filmstrip, the name of the active picture is displayed).

Of course, this is no replacement for a permanent display of the name, however it is very helpful to distinguish Raw/TIFFs with similar names.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Filename Display in Filmstrip.

If I can enable "Index Number" on the filmstrip, why not filename?  I see that this feature has been requested countless times.  It would make my workflow so much easier if I could see the actual filenames on the filmstrip as I edit photos in Develop mode.  Thanks for listening, Adobe.
