Photoshop CS5 locks up every time I choose file info on an image. An empty box opens and all menu items become grey and un-selectable, requiring a force quit. I'm running 10.7.3

Have you installed all the updates for Photoshop?

hmm... no probably not. I haven't because the Adobe updater doesn't work either! I tried calling once and they had me "fix" permissions that took FOREVER and it didn't help.

So, if you have an answer for that too, that would be great! :) I'm running CS5 12.0.4 64

12.0.4 is the latest for Photoshop -- but you might be missing updates for the Flash engine that drives the File Info dialog.

And unfortunately it sounds like your updater is messed up, and I don't know how to walk you through getting it straight again.

Is there a way to update without the updater? any other suggestions on how to fix it? Call again?

Hi Leslie,

Here's where you can download the update:

It sounds like there are other troubles with your system that may be causing Photoshop and the updater to behave erratically. I would try to get to the bottom of what's going. I would guess that your system has issues with user permissions. I would create a new Admin user account and try running Photoshop from the new user account.

I have this issue with CS5 too and have heard from others with the same problem.
You can try the new user account but that is a pain. You have to reinstall CS5 to fix it - another pain but better than setting up a new user account.
