Photoshop? File changes not being saved

I've just had two images that have failed to save changes on closing.

Both were greyscale, both had an overlay layer and a curves adjustment layer, and both were closed with a keyboard shortcut. Neither image gave a 'Save?' warning on closing, despite numerous edits to the images ... I just hit Command-S, and boom the image closed and discarded all my edits.

I've never come across an issue like this before, but to have something as major as this happening to a product this mature is worrying, to say the least. It doesn't inspire confidence in Adobe, particularly after being forced to adopt a subscription model.

Anyone else having this problem? Anyone got a fix (apart from using another app)?

Yes I have had this problem with CC on a mac on a number of files. I'm not able to repeat it though.

Were you saving your files to a location on a network?

Photoshop CC: Files not saving.

I just had it happen again, but still can't replicate the bug.

Files are not saving out of PS CC. I saved them, closed files, and when navigating to the folder later to open them, they are not there - the .psd was never created, though I got no error at the time of save.

Other users seem to have had this happen, as you can imagine this is a BIG problem.

I'm also having this problem. Photoshop CC, Mac OSX 10.8.3.
Seems to happen randomly, and I can't replicate it.

I'll make major or minor changes to a file, hit CMD+S, and in photoshop it appears to save (the * disappears from the title in the window, and "save" in the file menu becomes greyed out), yet when I navigate to the file in Finder, it still has the old modified date on it, and the appearance of the file is old.

As you can imagine, for someone who has used Photoshop for years, one habit is to keep hitting CMD+S often, and then finally hit it when I'm finished and close then close the window. I've lost hours of work by doing that as the file has not actually saved.

I found that when I could see the file in the finder window in the background while I was saving, it would save properly, but if the Finder is hidden, or Photoshop is in full screen, the save action wouldn't work properly.

I've since discovered this isn't the case, it just seems to "not save" randomly.

Any updates coming soon to fix this? It's a pretty big bug.

Craig - are you saving the file to a local drive on your computer, or a networked drive location?

Just recreated this bug - file opened from RAW, as Smart Object. Saved with Ctrl+S, and the asterisk (*) disappears indicating the file has saved, but it did not.

Only reason I noticed is because the file had not been saved at all yet, so I expected the Save As dialog to appear.

Adobe, is this on your radar at all?

I can't move the rest of my team, let alone our entire studio to CC due to this. Believe me I would love to with all of the great new CC features.

We haven't seen this at all.

My first guess would be a third party plugin causing problems.

Thanks Chris - I'm not using any 3rd party software with photoshop cc. Apologies for the lack of useful info - I haven't been able to replicate this bug intentionally. I'll post any additional info if I can.

OK! Here's some information that might actually be useful to you guys.

In PS CC: Open a RAW file, file open but PS recognizes it as saved, ie no asterisk. Hit Cmd+S to save, no change in file, no Save As dialog (expected). Close file, no Save As warning/dialog.

In PS CS6: Open a RAW file, PS recognizes file as NOT saved. Hit Cmd+S, Save As dialog appears.

So clearly the danger here is that it is easy to close a document without it being saved.

Nice - looks like this has been resolved in the 14.1.1 update -- thanks Adobe!!
