File operations (opening etc) can't be aborted by pressing ESC button anymore in Photoshop CC 2017.

Say, I've selected 100 images and accidently pressed Enter in Bridge but can't abort the operation. The only way is to kill Photoshop task altogether. It annoys me a lot

What OS/version are you running on? Esc works fine for me on macOS 10.11.6.

I'm not sure what tools you mean, but if you mean some tools in the Tools panel are missing, you may have chosen a workspace that doesn't include all of them, such as Graphics and Web. If you see the 3 dots in your Tools panel right below the Zoom tool, and click on the little triangle, you can see any missing tools there. If that doesn't fix it for you, try creating a new question so you're not hijacking the one here that has nothing to do with tools. You'll also be more likely to attract attention if your question stands on its own.

I just hit escape with 14 files right after they started to open, running Mac Yosemite, and PS responded instantly—well, almost instantly.
