File management on iOS

Hi,

I have a question regarding the file management on iOS. iOS uses APFS as file management system, where copies are no longer real copies but more like pointers. So ma question is: will importing images into LR, while keeping them in photos (iOS) will use double the space or not?

Thanks,

Interesting question, but I think iOS puts them in the cloud, and only leaves a thumbnail on the device.
I could be wrong however...

That depends on your settings. You will have to enable iCloud Photos for that. AFAIK, it is not on by default.

Indeed, that depends on iOS settings.
Here I’m assuming to keep everything locally.
Of course, if one would have checked “optimize for storage”, the “copy” would be “kept” for LR.
