Photoshop: Smooth mesh option in Liquify tool

I often have to map artwork onto an object. With all the pushing and pulling, the image becomes very wobbly.

It would be nice to have a "smooth" tool that takes out all that wobble without affecting the overall shape of the mesh. It is similar to the Restore tool but instead of going back to the original image, it would average the amount of distortion.

The latest version of Liquify has just such a mesh de-wobbler (smoothing brush). If you select the Reconstruct Tool while pressing the modifier key, you get smoothing and not reconstructing. It does exactly what you have depicted above. GPU mode only though. Sorry I do not remember the exact modifier key off hand.

This smoothing tool really needs to be available (and discoverable) in the Liquify Tool Bar.

Thanks. It is the Option key on a Mac (probably ALT on Windows).

And yes, it needs to be more accessible. Knowing about it would have saved me hour of work (although I'm not sure in what version it was introduced)

The Smooth Tool now has a tool icon position in the toolbar so you can select it just like any other Liquify tool.
