It would be great to both be able to view the videos in my lightroom collection and sync my videos back down to my lightroom collection. There aren't any video sync services I'm aware of so this could be a good differentiater.

Very good that the desktop version of Lightroom now supports video, at least for organizing them and applying keywords just like photos. Will it be available anytime soon for Lightroom mobile? Really, the syncing is great with photos but if I took a few pictures and videos with any device, I want to organize them all at the same time and not having to import manually my videos at a later time. Really that's what is preventing me to get a Creative Cloud plan.

I totally agree in this idea. I changed to LR from iPhoto due to the LR mobile app, but the lack of video support in the mobile app will possibly make me move back to apple's new photo solution. The way the LR mobile app also integrates with iPhone and iPad makes LR something totally different then LR used to be. I hope Adobe realizes that they should continue on embedding as much home user functionality as possible into their apps. Although I'm a CC user I can easily take that Adobes newly launched Photo plan is exactly what all the photo geeks (already willing to pay for fancy DLSRs) have been waiting for to organize their thousands of photos and easily build collections including photos from phones and tablets. Short videos are a natural part of such collections today. If we would be interested in any video functionality besides viewing our videos, it would be to clip away the part if the video that very often is crap. We don't need any of the fancy effects of premiere or after effects.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom: Sync Video to LR Mobile / Web Albums.

Lightroom Mobile is an awesome addition to my workflow and makes presentations much easier. However, a lot of my shoots include video and it becomes a more complex issue (and a poor experience) when I have to transfer video separately to my iPad or phone to display as part of a presentation.

My suggestion is to enable syncing of (compressed / low quality) video from LR Desktop to LR Mobile. I don't think mobile editing is an absolute necessity at first; I think just getting it onto the device is the priority.

I realize bandwidth is a real issue but perhaps only syncing videos for "downloaded" albums would alleviate the issue of repeatedly streaming the same video. Similarly, allowing local wifi sync instead of via the Adobe Cloud would eliminate any strain on Adobe's servers.

Would be interested in hearing others' feedback on this request. At the very least I'd be a fan of having videos in the web albums that Lightroom allows you to generate. I'm still stuck with Smugmug for album display and sharing (which, by the way, I pay a lot for; I would be happy to pay a bit more to Adobe for equivalency in terms of functionality!).

Thanks!

This would be very useful to me. I like to cast from my Samsung tab to the TV but cannot do videos as of now. My alternative is sync with dropbox and manage casting with that arrangement. Poor arrangement since I have to tie up more bandwidth and storage with dropbox sync and then streaming.

This has been partial implemented with the mobile import of video so clearly the infrastructure is there. It seems like it wouldn't be a huge leap to add low res videos from the desktop. Please consider this.

Today, nearly all cameras allow video shooting. Personally, I love to capture photos AND videos during the same event, and manage everything from Lightroom desktop. But I'm frustrated not seeing the videos onĀ https://lightroom.adobe.com, nor on my iPhone and my iPad.
I could export all my photos and videos and upload it on Flickr, or Canon irista.com, or Dropbox, or Google Drive, or ... but what a pain for something that Lightroom should now allow, in my opinion.
