Photoshop: Asset Generator Clips to Canvas size when Layer Groups are exported

I love Adobe Asset Generator, but I feel that it needs a slight tweak to make it killer. I often export comps via Generator, but it won't clip to the canvas size, which means I need to go back and trim the file if something's slightly misaligned or bleeds. This could be a setting enabled on a per-user basis, but if layer groups are exported via asset generator, the outputted file is clipped to the canvas dimensions. If individual layers are exported, the outputted file is still the layer dimensions. Thoughts?

We are planning to make this available soon for both Asset Generator and Extract Assets dialog we introduced a few weeks ago.

I'm having the flip side of this problem. I'll export app icons that need to be an exact size, but my art doesn't fill the whole canvas, so Generator is cropping my images smaller than the canvas size.

For example, My PSD is 256, and I need to export that +50% +25% etc...

If I target the exact file sizes through generator, it scales my art up to match the canvas size, and if I target a percent, it crops the exported files, so 50% of 256x256 is not 128x128 like it should be.

Seems like I can add a mask and that help resolve it, but has a fix to this been build in yet? Looks like this post is over a year old.

Thanks!
