I'm an e-commerce photographer. My workflow starts with Capture One, and then takes me to Photoshop. In order to maintain color consistency I need as much color information as possible.

Photoshop desperately needs to update its color info panel to include luminance, in addition to RGB.

Why don't you use LAB color mode in photoshop info palette?

Because LAB gives me a lightness readout between 1-100, which doesn't match the readout I receive in C1.

What is it you are trying to accomplish that can't be done using Lab values. You might want to read this post.

"Luminosity equals the L channel in Lab. RGB brightness is a different thing, the average of R, G and B, which does not take into consideration the inherent lightness of a color. It just averages the numbers. Applying some sort of calculation from RGB values to get luminosity is a dead end, that's not how it works. And HSB is derived from RGB, so there's no connection to luminosity."
