Photoshop: "Export As" command from layer panel with option to turn off "Trim Layers"

in my studio we make graphics for broadcast. lower thirds, supers, stripes. I may have 30 or 50 instances in one document and I have to export it as separate PNG files with transparency.

"Export As" will always trim the layers to their size, or allow to expand the canvas with them centered. it will not export them with transparency at their location (bottom left for example). this makes us resort to action that will duplicate the layer, save as Png and close. one by one. either that or use the script export layers to files - but it is very slow. export as works wonderfully with Full-frame layers, but not with layers with transparency because it trims them. an option to allow or not allow trim would save us a lot of time and I am sure others too will appreciate it.

Hi, there might be a few different things that could work but I need a little more info.  Would you mind posting some screenshots (including the layers panel, results, etc) so I can get an idea of what you're getting and what you want to get?

Oh, one more thing, right-click on the layer in the layers panel > Quick Export or Export As...  will trim to layer bounds, but if you go to File > Export > Export As... it will use the document bounds.

Yes but unfortunately it will do that to the composite of all the layers and not each layer separately

Hi Yooofi,  I started a discussion with a couple of our developers and a designer on Friday about your instancing feature request.  There are some developers on a separate team (different Adobe product) that is looking to implement and address this.  Whether it gets into Photoshop as well relatively soon remains to be seen.

If you add a mask at the outer bounds of the region you're trying to Save, Export As will include the transparency. Unfortunately, that means adding a mask to every single layer, since Export As won't recognize a mask on Layer Groups.

Yes, that was going to be one of my suggestions.  Thanks eartho!

nice workaround but yes, every layer with a mask that's a bummer. BTW this works for layer groups.
