Feature request: Auto-upload / add new photos

I love the new Lightroom CC. The software is so much easier to use, and moving to the cloud is fantastic. Congrats on the update!

My main request would be to allow us to auto-upload photos from our mobile devices (like we can with OneDrive or Google Drive, selecting which folders to auto-upload), and also be able to set folders on the Windows and Mac desktop which will also auto-upload.

Basically I want to be able to just open up Lightroom, and know that I'll find all my photos there, always, regardless of the device or computer I'm using. And from there be able to quickly edit and share, or go from there to Photoshop, etc.

Have you tried installing the Lightroom CC iOS/Android apps, to get the photos automatically from your mobile devices? I think you'll like the way it works together, automatically transferring your photos to the LRCC cloud and back down to your computer.

Hi Victoria. Yes, I have tried to Android app. I like it just fine, but have yet to find a way to make it automatically upload / add photos I take with my device camera.

It uploads them just fine automatically if I take them with the Lightroom camera. And I can also manually add photos from the device camera, sorting by date or by Device Folder. But what I would like to see is an option to select Device Folder(s) that will be monitored, where new photos that appear will be auto-uploaded/added, in a way analogous to how we can do that with OneDrive / Dropbox / Google Drive app.

I think that now that Lightroom has moved to the cloud, this type of option makes sense, especially if we have 100GB or even (hopefully in the future) 1TB of space.

Tap the menu icon in the top left corner, and then you'll find an "auto add" option in one of the menus there (sorry I don't have an Android to hand right now to check which one, but there's only a couple)

Hmm... I already had that turned on, but it wasn't working (phone: Moto G5 Plus). That's why I figured it was just referring to auto-importing photos taken with the Lightroom app itself.

However, I did get it to work just now. What I did was go into my default phone app (which is the OOTB phone app for the Moto G5 Plus), and change the default save location of the photos from "Phone" to "Memory Card."

At that point, the Lightroom Android app immediately began importing new photos from the default camera app, including those I took this morning before the change.  So, if someone else has this problem - try changing your default camera's save location (even if it is just to change it immediately back).

Flexibility to choose other folders to auto-add, as well as the option on Windows and Mac, would still be appreciated.
