I usually have many documents open at the same time. it is essential to my workflow as I am required in my studio to process many images at once. a command that clears all others but the open document will be very useful to me. file->close all others. it will leave my active document open and close all others.

Are you handy with Javascript? You should be able to script this workflow fairly easily.

thank you Jeffrey, No. I did a bit of googling and saw the threads are suggesting and trying different things. I think this should be native feature. I work in After Effects where you composite images in motion and for the last decade or so we have a feature to "close other panels".  in premiere there's also that feature. Ps should get it because unlike Illustrator, you typically use a canvas for each composite. you should have more control over what's open and closed.

Unfortunately, I've heard this request less times than I can count on one hand, and never on this request site, so it's unlikely to bubble up in the near future. Scripting might be your best bet if it's something you personally need - and why the scripting API is there.

I see. that's unfortunate. is there a website where I could potentially find this kind of script ready to go?
