Photoshop CC 2019: Feathering on lasso tool broken

I've just updated to the new version of CC 2019, and have noticed two bugs with the lasso tool. Firstly, it gives a strange warning about less than 50% pixels are selected if the feather setting isn't manually reset to zero.

Secondly, if you reset the feathering to zero, increasing the value doesn't work, with the edges of the selection remaining hard.

I've included two screenshots of the second problem, one with the value set at zero, one set much higher.

It would be great to have a bug fix quickly, as it makes the tool unusable.

The feathering-value in options-bar has always been only applied if changed before you use the Lasso-tool and not after the fact. To change feathering after you Lasso-selected something use »Select > Modify > Smooth«

"Firstly, it gives a strange warning about less than 50% pixels are selected if the feather setting isn't manually reset to zero."

This will occur if the feathering setting is set too high such that it's blurred to the point where no pixels are selected.

"Secondly, if you reset the feathering to zero, increasing the value doesn't work, with the edges of the selection remaining hard."

To Olaf's point, if you need to feather a selection that is already created, try the Select > Modify > Feather... command
