Adding a Feather setting on Patch tool bar would improve the tool's efficiency, because I've found that on grainy photographs, result of the Patch tool is ok in the center but has very distinct edges - an effect that's decreased using combination of tools Lasso (with Feather of a few pixels) and then applying Patch.

It would be nice to have the option in plain view, but you can always go to Select > Modify > Feather to feather the selection.

Yeah, but this is for practical reasons - a simple textbox for pixel number input like on Lasso; at the time I did a lot of repetitive Patches on a nasty series of images, and having a pre-set Feather in the toolbar would have been very useful...

Seven years on and no traction.... this feature is a real time saver if we could have an input box to set feather similar to the lasso tool.

I think the reason this is permanently stalled is because the majority of the users who would benefit from this aren't the ones manually feathering after the fact, but the ones who just use a different tool instead.

It seems like a no-brainer which should have been there at the tool's inception, and since it wasn't, people never got in the habit of using it to its potential.
