Elements 14: Facial recognition not working well for me

I have to say elements 14 organizer facial recognition is HORRIBLE. It is tiresome , tedious and laborious. It just does NOT do a very good job of recognizing faces that are already named and recognized. I have thousands of photos of family and this is taking days to get accomplished. My family is only me, wife, 2 daughters Son in Law and grandchild. We are talking about pictures that it is obvious this is the same face already tagged but it either wants me to individually confirm or add a name. If I batch confirm I have to check each face individually because they are not all the same in that batch.

Hi,

There is no technology at the moment that would work as well as you on face recognition. Organizer offers a few features, that make face organizing easier, but in reality you must be prepared for much work.
On the good side, after you assign some faces to a name, Organizer tries to hint you with other faces resembling the ones already assigned.
Also, if you work on family members consider, that they are usually similar, making it more difficult for a program to differentiate.

I have used numerous photo organizers. None have been as difficult as this version in 14 at facial recognition. There will be groups of same faces grouped into separate batches to be named. Only differences would be a facial expression or hair may be slightly different. Pictures this program identifies incorrectly will be loaded to FB and their algorithm will correctly identify them, even photos of same person decades apart, when loaded to FB , they suggest the correct name a very large majority of the time.

Hi,

Nice to know.

So far I have used for face recognition only Picasa (which has similar face recognition quality to PSE) and PaintShop Pro, which is significantly weaker.

PSE doesn't even come close to Picasa. PSE requires me to verify a copy of the same photo. Picasa 90% guesses right and allows me to delete the few wrong ones. PSE requires me to search every folder and misses most photos. Picasa finds every photo on every hard drive and puts the up for me to see. PSE asks me to identify portions of an image that is not a face. That is how bad PSE is.

I agree. It sees the same face as unknown in so many pics it is the worst.
Yet they won't address it. Even the previous version was much better at it than 14 is.

I haven't used picasa in awhile but don't recall it being this bad at facial recognition.

Compared to OS X Photos the Face Recognition is very poor and extremely slow.

Pretty much all I ever get. Disgusted with this company. No help or satisfaction on their own web site to all these complaints. There are several threads with same issues.
