When i update Photoshop CC 2015 to CC 2015.1.1, Eyedropper tool won't work with expanded tools, only work fine with non-expanded tools when i choose a color from Foreground and Background colors

Hi Ahmad,

I'm able to reproduce this on Mac. With my toolbar not in expanded 2-column mode, I'm unable to use the color picker eyedropper on the background color in the toolbar.

However if I make the toolbar a single column, the eye dropper will work to select a background color on the toolbar.

I'll log a bug, thanks for the report.

Regards
Pete

Hi also Peter....

The problem I have is that when I select a colour from an image using the EyeDropper tool.... the sample colour that I want goes to the background colour part of the tool... and not the Foreground as it did by default in all other previous versions. It's just an annoying little issue adding clicks to my workflow.

This may be different to what Ahmad has been experiencing.... so I would appreciate it if you let me know that this indeed and know bug... or if I'm doing something wrong.

Kind regards,
Anthony

Then you have something completely unrelated to this topic. You chose the background swatch in the color palette and forgot making that change, so now you are picking the background color. Go back to the color palette and choose the foreground color swatch.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Cannot select colour from toolbar in Photoshop.

I cannot select the colour:
- vector shape
- text colour
- layer effect colour

I click to the colour of the text layer, and with the eyedropper i try to select a foreground or the background colour from the toolbar panel. It doesnt work, and sounds a beep like an error.

It's a very old way to pick colour, that's why not so easy to change my old habits.

Any idea?

I have the same issue. It picks the color and sends it to the background and when I go to brush I'm using the foreground color, not the color I want. This is annoying.
