Exporting an image as a % size in Lightroom

In Lightroom Export template.
It would be useful and save space to have a % option in the resize function. I often want to downsize images from cameras with different size sensors to half the size and a % option would allow just one template to do that.

Could you explain why you downsize them to 50% of the original size, rather than setting them all to the same size?

I dunno if I ever understood the rationale for this either, but a substantial number of people want to do it. One can do it using Photoshop, or more directly from Lightroom via Exportant (a free plugin I wrote):

One of the advantages of high resolution sensors is that one can trade off resolution for noise reduction by downsampling. This is very useful for high iso (bird) images so it is something I do quite regularly. I use a FX, DX and CX camera all with different size sensors and noise characteristics and I often crop to irregular sizes that suit the composition. Therefore only having say the option of denoting the long size in downsampling means I have to work that figure out for every image that I treat this way. I know that a 50% downsampling will reduce noise and increase accutance sufficient for me and having a % option would be a time and space saver.

Rob thanks for the plugin info. The fact that this is available in photoshop and all the previous editor I have used but not in Lightroom makes this a not unreasonable request.
