Does anyone know if the brand new update to Lightroom fixes the video slide show export problem?  Recent versions of Lightroom would not export high res videos!!

LR CC 2015.12 works on my Windows 7 system with mixed portrait and landscape images using 'Zoom to Fill Frame' and/or 'Pan and Zoom' checked using 1080p video Export.

Using Lightroom Classic CC 7.3 (raw 10.3) is not exporting slide shows but it was a couple of days ago. I am exporting 720p, and I do NOT have "Zoom to Fill Frame" checked. I have Stroke Border, Cast Shadow, Identity Plate, Color Wash, Intro Screen, Ending Screen, Music (5 min), and Pan+Zoom checked. There are 46 slides, so not a huge amount. I may have changed a setting since the last show I did, and these are different files (but still mostly ORF). The slideshow stops around the 'p' of Export Slideshow as Video (about 10%).

This appears to be due to an old bug that has resurfaced in LR 7. Does it work if you remove all of the portrait orientation images?

Thanks for joining the conversation.  Is there someone from Adobe reading this who can answer the question??

Adobe does read these posts.

I was able to get LR 7.2 to create 1080p and 720p slideshows with mixed landscape and portrait image files, but only after rebuilding the 1:1 Previews. Select all of the image files to be used in the slideshow and in the Library module menu go to Library> 'Build 1:1 Previews. Try the slideshow export again. If it still doesn't work close and reopen LR and try again. Clearly this is a bug and hopefully Adobe will acknowledge and fix it (again).

Thanks Todd. I already removed all the portrait slides. I had learned about that problem as well as "Zoom to fill". I will try rebuilding the previews and see if that fixes it. You'd think that their testing would catch these problems. It mystifies me how something like this could get to production, especially given that they've had this problem in the past.

If you removed all portrait images and unchecked 'Zoom to Fill' this may be due to some other issue. Let me know if rebuilding 1:1 previews fixes the issue. In my case on Windows 7 with LR 7.2 that works with mixed portrait and landscape raw files.

I retreated to a small number of photos and unchecking all the check boxes, and it worked. I gradually added photos and check boxes, and eventually the whole thing worked. Maybe some of the previews were rebuilt or some other invisible change happened. Just lost a couple of hours exporting file after file.

It shouldn't be difficult to create a slideshow in LR, but unfortunately it's a crapshoot getting it to work on many systems. Even then the results can be mediocre and with HD videos less than optimally sharp. I hate to say it, but I gave up on the LR slideshow module years ago and have been using Proshow. The results and editing options are like night and day. Just my 2 cents worth....
