I just purchased Lightroom and created and exported video without a problem yesterday. Today, slideshow videos I create are completely black. I have tried many times but the same thing happens. I have Mac OS 10.7.1 Lion on a new Mac Pro Tower with 12 Gigs of memory. I tried reinstalling the recent version 3.5 upgrade but still there is no difference.

Are you including an audio track? If so, what happens if you export the slideshow without an audio track?

Thanks. No audio track was included, just jpeg photos, There was no text either other than on the first intro frame.

Maybe try deleting (or temporarily renaming) the preferences file and see if the problem persists. Information about how to find the prefs file is here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/843/cpsid_84...

This does not work. I would greatly like a solution that does.

I've got exactly the same problem, but on Mac OSX 10.6.8, Lr 3.6.
Slideshow is working perfectly in Lr 2 that I kept on my system for testing purposes. However, in Lr 3 it is as if the sliders for duration and fade were inversed: I need to push the fade slider far to the right to see anything, which makes the image fade in very slowly. With the fade slider set to small values (1 sec), the image just pops up for a millsecond, before the screen goes black again. It then stays black for the time the duration slider is set to. (This is without music).
Really strange...

Same for me. Exporting slideshow to 1080p, images are raws (NEFs). Works for small numbers of images, anything over a few hundred just black. Didn't work in Lightroom 3; still doesn't work in Lightroom 4. Mac Mini 4GB, OSX 10.6.8. No audio, set cache file to unlimited, no previews in advance, still nothing.

I have the exact same problem. I have two different computers, a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro, both running Mountain Lion and no matter what I do when I try a slide show I get a black screen.

I have tried everything including running lightroom in a brand new account with no preferences and rebooting in safe mode and nothing can make LightRoom display a slideshow.

I have tried all avenues I can think of to bring this problem to Adobe and have received no acknowledgement whatsoever.

I found this topic after I had already started a new topic on the same problem:

I also posted in Adobe Community and no-one from Adobe has tried to help me there either:
