It would be fabulous if we could process and then move multiple (stack images) RAW files directly from Camera Raw into a single file in Photoshop as multiple layers!

That would indeed be nice. Indirectly you can already do this. The Photoshop script 'Load files into Stack' accepts raw files too.

Thanks much for the response. Yes load files into stack will do so, but not modified files from Camera Raw. Camera Raw can open an image or open as a smart object, but not load into a stack, seems like a simple addition to me. Going from ACR to Lr isn't much of a time saver either and takes away returning to ACR for more adjustments.

I didn't say it was the same, but it's a useful workaround. Here's another one: If you open all the raw images from ACR in Photoshop, you can then run that same script and let it load all currently open files into a stack.

Thanks! That's what I'm talking about! How is that load command executed exactly?
I understand how to load files from a directory of course, but not sure about loading currently open files.

After you have opened the raw images from ACR in Photoshop, go to menu 'File - Scripts - Load Files into Stack'. Click the button in the dialog to use the open files. There is even a checkbox to automatically align the layers if needed.

Perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Never noticed the Add Open Files option. Duh. In testing this all the adjustments made in ACR are preserved in the opened files which is to be expected, and the now stacked RAW files also have their file names as layer names too.
Thank you very much for your help and patience!!!

Or "Load Files into Photoshop Layers" from Bridge. Or if you have Lightroom "Open as Layers in Photoshop".
