Lightroom Classic: Export makes pc slow

Exporting images makes pc almost unusable, in the past the exports were much slower but I could perform other tasks on my PC, sometimes something as simple as watching YouTube on my secondary monitor. The new version is much faster but renders my i7 8700k, gtx 1080 and 32gb if ram useless as far as multitasking. Watching a YouTube tutorial while exporting raw files to JPEGs constantly causes YouTube, mouse and windows to freeze as well as an occasional black screen flash.

I am on windows 10 home Dual Monitor setup and I have a i7 8700k (asus rog maxiums hero motherboard) with 32gb of ram and a samsung evo 960 m.2 drive and a gtx 1080; I just tried reverting to an earlier version 7.1 and the issue went away along with the speedy export and better performance. I notice the issue when I batch export images and I have a video or movie playing on the other monitor. The video starts pausing or freezing with occasional hiccups and using other programs lag as well. In the recent revert to 7.1 the issue was gone and as soon as I upgraded again it was back.

I tried the steps and there is no improvement, I found that I can minimize the lightroom window and my desktop becomes  a little more stable more stable and usable but if I try to maximize the lightroom window while exporting it's nothing but issues like freezing, black screen and not responding.

Does it respond better if you disable your graphics card?

I will try that tonight, I know it worked fine in 7.1 with accelerated graphics enabled

Go into Task Manager and then find the Lightroom.exe under "Details" and right click it. Change priority to below normal, or even lower if you want, and it shouldn't make your computer stutter during export.
