Hi, In Photoshop I often use Layer comps. This feature is really smart when working with sprites, UI and game graphics, but it's lacking a very important feature as I see it.

When you want to export the layer comps you cannot Trim / Crop the transparrency. So all exported images will be the size of the photoshop canvas. To me this really seems like a must have feature but for some reason it's not present. If you chose "Export to files" to can check Trimmed but not if you are exporting layer comps.

Extra Info: I cannot use Export to files because the images I export, often consist of many different layers - which is why I prefer Layer comps.

yeah, there's a million things missing from all the different exporting options and workflows. Adobe needs to unify all of the options and put them inside a single UI container, so that we can have access to everything.
Unfortunately, i think most of that is still a decade away from being implemented.
For now, you can set up an action to trim after export, or do a manual canvas contract and then export from that.

Yeah, There are also other tools like texture packer that can handle this , but it would just be so great to do this directly from Photoshop.

I want this feature too (layer comp trimmed to a specific canvas / image frame size) but what I'd prefer is the functionality of Layer Comps and Artboards to be merged. If Layer Comps could support a canvas size and a center, artboards would no longer be necessary.

Here is a script which combines Export > Layer Comps to Files with Artboards.
