When Export as, this mumble jumble screen appears every time. I can't see if it's png or jpg or any buttons! We have the latest version of Photoshop CC 2017.1.1 - needs to be fixed.

Hello Nicole,

Okay, I have questions.  First, if you see this as mumble jumble, then why do you need it?  What are you exporting?   And, to where?  By what means: email, file, folder or disc?   The usual piece of information in that export dialog panel is the word "folder" which it wants to know the most.  Where is a file going?   Where are you sending it?   And, it wants you to give it a names other than the first file-name.  This way it has a clean file-path.   Other things in the panel won't need your assistance because usually beyond the folders, there is no other exporting.   It helps to know what software and computer, etc.

So, while you're at it, please give me the version of your Photoshop CC and version of your Operating System, (hopefully Windows).   And why is this a problem?     Why or how does it need to be fixed?   More readable?   Perhaps a manual of how to work with it?   Can you tell me what you use Photoshop with or for?   Are you a professional?   Hobbyist?  Photographer?   Did you installed it to learn?   I am interested in all and each of these.   Tell me everything.   This is not a survey.   I help people who give lots of accurate information, because, tech support should never be a guessing game.   Thanks in advance.

Nicole,

I still want all your information, so send it all to me.  Next I will give you a couple of instruction pages from the web I found.  These are easy to understand pages for anyone.  Check 'em out.

First I will give you a link where you can learn file saving and export.
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/saving-images.html

Next, I will give you an easy to read explanation of the export panel and what to click on to get it going.  http://www.dummies.com/software/adobe/adobe-creative-suite/how-to-import-and-export-in-photoshop/

Meanwhile, send me that info.  Thanks!

Howdy Nicole,

It looks like you're on Mac and your computer is missing the designated UI font for these dialogs and something else is being substituted in it's place.  There are a couple of ways to fix this, but I do need to know what version of Mac OS you're running.  The system fonts that COULD be in use are: San Francisco, Helvetica Neue, Lucida Grande, Segoe UI, and/or AdobeClean.  The quickest and easiest would be to make sure you have one or more of these fonts installed on your machine.  If so, the one used here has become corrupt.  If not, then you need to install at least one of them for the app (and others as well) to function normally.

Thanks,
David

Hi David,

A closer look at this dialog (and a copy into my own image editor) shows the settings are in the normal font in English but her own files are in a foreign language.   I am thinking the fonts are good in the dialog and she reads English, and she reads her own language, but she doesn't know about "metadata", "scale", "image size", and "canvass size".  Those settings are all there in English.  Her files are not in English.  If she knew how to operate this, she would get the gist.

Otherwise, if you know a way to change all of it to one language, that may be a better fix.  I'm not sure if she has Mac or Windows but my bet is on Windows since 2017.1.1 is for Windows and 2017.18.1 is for Mac.   Her dialog image is labeled as coming from 2017.1.1 respectively from Windows.

Hi Steve,

No, I believe that she's seeing some of the menus correctly because those use a font she has, while the messed up ones are using a missing font.  If just her data was messed up, I could maybe see what you're talking about, but almost all of our text box labels are also corrupt.  We wouldn't mix writing systems like that, so I'm 99% sure this is a font issue.

Thanks,
David

David,
Please do the font correction and I will learn from it.  I've seen this before.  But I am pretty sure I see text box labels in English.   The rest of it isn't.   I'll watch.

David, can I ask you this question?  What is a moderator in this Adobe forum?

Howdy Steve,

Moderators are Adobe employees.  Some of us are designated customer outreach folks while others, like myself, are on the product team.

Have a nice weekend,
David
