Confused about Elements feature set?

Your product instructions are quite opaque. I wanted to see how Photoshop Elements might be better than other products that cost half as much. What I got is a stripped down version that appears not to do half of what the less expensive product does, but from your instruction and help pages, who can tell? This should be advertised as a professional product that requires a lot of training and money to purchase editions that have any power. I won't be purchasing any more Adobe products and would not advise others who are not professionals to do so either. I had to use my email to enter my comment (even though I was already logged in); no replies please.

Photoshop Elements is not Photoshop.
