Lightroom: Every time a slideshow is modified the whole slideshow is recompiled

Every time I create a slideshow and if I add one image or remove one image or modify a teeny tiny detail in any image or in the settings, LR compiles the ENTIRE damn slideshow all over again! It takes at least 6-7 hours of continuous machine time on a high end core i5 machine to generate a basic slideshow of let's say 5-7 minutes of a respectable resolution which can do justice to the pictures taken. Why can't we reuse the originally generated data (before the modification), like compilers use object files? Whenever any delta change is made, that particular file is compiled & linked with the others previously generated. There should be a way to reuse that existing intermediate data and/or clean that data and start afresh. A VERY important requirement and it would save so so so many hours of everyone's time. Currently I cringe at the thought of having to regenerate my slideshows at the slightest change.
